The Islamic Republic of Iran`s Agricultural Jihad Ministry announced that export of caviar, shrimp and fish annually earns the country some $48 million.
The statistics issued by the Agricultural Jihad Ministry indicates that the country`s fisheries product during the last three years has reached 562 thousand and 422 tonnes and the annual export of the products is valued at $48 million.
Based on eh report the annual growth of the fisheries sector has reached 7 percent and some 170 thousand persons have been employed in the sector.
Aquatics production is predicted to reach 692 thousand tonnes in the current year.
Based on the predictions, Iran`s fisheries exports and imports in the current year will reach $210 million and $45 million, respectively.
It is also predicted that Iran`s caviar production will exceed 10 tonnes in the current year.
