Agricultural Jihad Deputy Minister announced that Iran`s fisheries exports will reach $210 million in the current year.
Referring to the celebration of National Export Day on October 20, Vahid Zare Mahforuzi told MNA that based on the predictions, Iran`s fisheries exports during the current year will stand at 83 thousand tonnes valued at $210 million.
"Some 70 percent of the country`s shrimps produced in the current year will be exported, as well," he added.
He also said that in the current year Iran will process some 10 tonnes of its caviar, a great part of which is to be exported.
Based on the predictions, Iran`s total fisheries production will reach 692 thousand tonnes, of which some 456 tonnes will be gained via fishing and the rest 236 thousand tons via aqua culturing, he added.
Currently 1700 pisciculture centers are active in the Islamic Republic of Iran, he concluded.
