Iran plans to export its hand-woven carpets to new markets in order to avoid current financial crisis in the target markets like America and Europe, Managing Director of Iran Carpet Company said.
In order to avoid decrease of demand for Iranian hand-woven carpets in the target markets including America and Europe, Iran tends to export its carpets to certain new markets, Jalaledin Basam said.
"The Arab countries such as Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman are the best alternatives", he added.
The crisis has not hurt the Arab countries yet and they are not threatened by a serious harm, he said.
Russia could b another new target market for Iranian carpets, he added.
Iran`s total carpet export stood at $398 million in the last year.
