The Islamic Republic of Iran has been first in terms of oil exports to India during the last 6 months.
From April to September, Iran has exported 432,000 barrels of oil per day to India which has imported 68 percent of its oil demands from Middle East states, Reuters reported.
According to the report, after Iran, Saudi Arabia has been ranked second greatest oil exporter to India during the mentioned time.
Iran's oil exports to India in the last 6 months accounted for 16.5 percent of the latter's total oil imports.
Saudi Arabia exported 419,000 barrels of oil per day to India while Iraq's oil exports to the country reached 299,000 bpd.
After China and Japan, India is third biggest Asian country in terms of oil consumption.
In 2008-2009, India imported 2.56 million barrels of oil per day showing remarkable growth despite the global economic crisis.
