The Islamic Republic of Iran's hand-woven carpets export increased 23.4 percent in the last Iranian mnoth of Mehr (September 23-October 22), said head of Iran National Carpet Center, Morteza Faraji.
Iran's hand-woven carpet exports reached $52.1 million in the last month of the current year, Faraji said adding that the figure stood at $42.2 million in the same month of the last year.
According to him, holding hand-woven carpet exhibition in the first month of the autumn was the main reason for the increase in Iran's carpet exports.
During the first 7-months of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), Iran has exported $233.5 million of hand-woven carpets.
Iran's hand-woven carpets export stood at $$224.6 million in the same period of last year.
He said that Iran will dispatch certain delegations to Germany and Russia to attend carpet exhibitions to be held in those countries adding that attending the exhibitions will result in more growth of Iran's carpet exports.
